The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has ordered two newbuild superyacht cruise ships, ‘Ilma’ and ‘Luminara’, from Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Sant-Nazaire, France, with an option for additional vessels.
Chantiers de l’Atlantique will carry out all production and development, including enhanced design and sustainability features. The announcement comes as The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection prepares to launch its first superyacht vessel, Evrima, this summer.
The two newbuilds are scheduled for delivery in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
Douglas Prothero, CEO The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, said: “We are thrilled to work with Chantiers de l’Atlantique on the development of our second and third superyachts, Ilma and Luminara. They are a likeminded organisation that is committed to excellence and a custom quality process and programme that will help execute our vision as we thoughtfully expand our portfolio.”
Laurent Castaing, GM Chantiers de l’Atlantique, said: “Chantiers de l’Atlantique is very proud to design and build these medium size – ultra luxury cruise vessels and initiate a new partnership with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. These ships will provide the highest quality standards and comfort level to their guests and simultaneously be at the forefront of environmental performances.”
The specially designed vessels will feature 228 suites, offering the highest space ratios at sea, with the largest suites measuring up to 100m2 in size. Each vessel will be fitted with four dual-fuel engines using LNG as the main fuel source, significantly reducing emissions compared to traditional vessels. Additionally, the ships will include advanced water treatment systems, an efficient heat recovery loop, LED lighting, with the goal of minimising environmental impact.
