Conoship International has announced the latest addition to its short-sea, standard design portfolio: the CIP230 TEU Container Feeder vessel design.
The new version expands Conoship’s standardised CIP-series with a compact container feeder solution for short-sea operations, built on the proven CIP3800 platform. The CIP3800 platform has become a trusted basis for efficient short-sea vessels, with more than 30 vessels built worldwide. With the CIP230 TEU Container Feeder, the series now has a dedicated container feeder design that combines performance with container-specific cargo handling.
Developed in response to market demand for flexible micro-feeder capacity, the CIP230 TEU offers maximum flexibility for different container sizes, efficient port throughput, and excellent fuel economy. The vessel is designed for regional container routes, smaller port operations, and short-sea logistics where reliability, compact dimensions, and fast turnaround times are essential.
Designed with an overall length of 99.93m, the CIP230 TEU is engineered to sit beneath the 100m threshold. The vessel features a hatch coverless, fully cellular configuration that eliminates the need for traditional hatch covers over the main cargo hold. It has a maximum capacity of 230 TEU.
By being based on a standardised basic design, the engineering framework allows for an optimised construction process with reduced delivery times. The basic design package is available for licensing from Conoship International upon request. This licensing model is designed to provide shipowners with the flexibility to contract the construction of the vessels at their shipyard of choice.
