C-JOB AND GLOMAR UNVEIL GREEN OSV DESIGN

Aug 20, 2026 | offshore marine news

C-Job Naval Architects and offshore operator Glomar have unveiled the design of a next-generation Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) that is said to provide a breakthrough in versatility and sustainable engineering.

Purpose-built as Glomar’s first vessel of its kind, the design eliminates the need for multiple specialised ships. The OSV is engineered for peak performance across diverse offshore tasks, from subsea inspections and cable trenching to ROV operations.

C-Job CEO and co-founder Job Volwater said: “This project reflects C-Job’s drive to deliver innovative, future-proof vessel designs. Together with Glomar, we’ve created a flexible, high-performance vessel that meets today’s operational demands while embracing tomorrow’s sustainability standards.”

The near-80m long ship is optimised for offshore environments, featuring:

  • DP2 positioning and Ice Class for precision in harsh conditions.
  • ROV hangar, moon pool and dedicated trencher deck space for subsea operations.
  • Accommodation for 60 personnel.

The OSV’s multifunctional design is intended to offer seamless transition between offshore roles, giving operators a cost-effective, future-ready solution.

Environmental equipment includes:

  • Dual-fuel engines (methanol and MGO).
  • Integrated methanol tanks and battery power systems.
  • Methanol Ready and Green Plus notations for sustainability compliance.

The project was defined by open collaboration, with C-Job and Glomar solving complex design challenges — from maximising both indoor and outdoor space to optimising exhaust layouts and applying renewable fuels.

Melvin Weij, COO Glomar, added: “At Glomar, tailor-made solutions are in our DNA. With C-Job, we’ve designed a vessel that raises the bar for versatility and sustainable offshore support. We appreciate the creativity and design excellence C-Job brought to this project and are thrilled with the results.”
