Air lubrication technology company Silverstream Technologies has announced the appointment of Catriona Savage into the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Savage will lead the continued development of the Silverstream System and will further develop the technical centre-of-excellence built by Silverstream Technologies. The new role will lead on Product Development and Application Engineering and all aspects of product quality, safety and performance.
Savage joins Silverstream following a successful career at BMT as Technical Assurance and Capability Director, overseeing the business’s global Maritime, Environment, Defence & Security, Asset Management and Sustainment functions. She is President of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) and an Honorary Professor at UCL Mechanical Engineering, having previously held the position of Ministry of Defence (MoD) Chair in Naval Architecture.
Savage’s experience across maritime and engineering disciplines, both in industry and in academia, are expected to enhance Silverstream’s existing technical capability and help to advance the performance and uptake of its technology. Her expertise in leading large, diverse engineering teams, using tools and processes to provide assurance of engineering excellence, is considered a good fit within Silverstream’s working culture.
