CMT EXPANDS PRESENCE IN ASIAN MARKET

German company CMT (Condition Monitoring Technologies) has deepened its presence across Asia’s influential shipping hubs through an expanded partnership with Singapore’s Junma Services, a move that the company says is already generating new customer interest in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

The collaboration, which builds on strong sales growth in Singapore where CMT’s Premet X Diesel Performance Analysis tool has gained traction, marks a shift from a passive presence to a more active, growth-oriented strategy across the Asia-Pacific region.

CMT MD David Fuhlbrügge said: “Since July last year, when we appointed Junma Services to help facilitate Singapore demand the company has increased its market share in the Chinese and Hong Kong maritime sectors, and established strong networks with shipowners, managers and service providers. Junma’s ability to navigate the cultural and regulatory landscape has been invaluable. Its expertise has already led to increased inquiries.”

Junma is now operating directly in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou, actively introducing CMT’s full product range to technical managers and ship operators. This hands-on approach has already produced measurable results, building on a successful campaign in Singapore last year that secured an order for more than 40 Premet X units.

Fuhlbrügge added: “The partnership has enabled us to significantly increase visibility and reach across Asia’s shipping hubs. While Singapore has already delivered strong results, the collaboration with Junma has opened doors to new customer contacts in Hong Kong and Mainland China. This has improved our market penetration and created a stronger foundation for sustainable growth.”

The company regards Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou as among Asia’s most important centres for shipping, ship management, shipbuilding and repair, offering access to large fleets and established companies. Demand for condition monitoring and fuel-oil analysis solutions is considered high as operators seek efficiency and compliance in increasingly competitive markets.

Fuhlbrügge said: “All of our product lines are relevant to the region, but the most consistent demand continues to be for our fuel and lube oil testing solutions. At the same time, diesel engine performance indicators, such as the Premet X, are attracting strong interest to ensure engines are running to optimum. Optimising engine efficiency and monitoring performance in real time results in significant fuel savings.”

CMT’s cooperation with Junma contrasts sharply with previous Asian arrangements, the former distributor not being particularly active in developing the market. The new partnership is thought to represent a decisive shift to a more engaged strategy with a partner that is embedded in the region and committed to building relationships.

Fuhlbrügge concluded: “The initial response has been very positive. We are seeing a clear increase in inquiries, and with Junma’s support we can address demand more directly and effectively than before. The cooperation with Junma is paying dividends. By combining our technology with their local expertise, we are building a stronger position in markets that are critical to global shipping. This expansion will help ensure CMT remains a trusted partner for ship owners and managers seeking practical solutions to improve efficiency and meet regulatory demands.”
