Dutch ship designer Conoship International has introduced the CIP4400, its latest standardised cargo vessel design, and the successor to the CIP3800.
With an extended midship section, the vessel increases its deadweight by 15%, creating additional shipping opportunities and enabling operations in new trade routes.
The CIP series is built on a future proof platform, allowing for easy alterations to accommodate future fuels and regulatory changes due to an electric propulsion system where the energy creation can easily be swapped from diesel to other energy sources, such as hydrogen fuel cells, methanol-fuelled engines or batteries.
The vessel is 99.93m long and 13.2m wide, with summer draught of 5.25m. Deadweight is 4396 dwt, and gross tonnage around 3220gt.
Further strengthening the modular and flexible philosophy behind the CIP series, the CIP4400 design is ready to be altered to include cranes. This optional modification provides opportunities for loading and unloading where quaysides lack the proper equipment.
