Danfoss has added various new and updated features to its iC7-Hybrid power converters and iC7-Marine variable frequency drives (VFDs)offering enhanced safety, cyber security, and improved connectivity.
The updates are intended to deliver intelligent, reliable performance for marine and hybrid applications, simplifying installation and ensuring global marine and grid code compliance. The iC7-Hybrid power converters and iC7-Marine drives can be used in upgrading an existing system or engineering a new installation.
Key enhancements include:
- Integrated functional safety: Built-in SIL3-certified ‘Safe Torque Off’ (STO) and ‘Safe Stop 1’ (SS1) protect personnel and assets while reducing system costs by eliminating external safety contactors and complex wiring
- Advanced cyber security: Strengthened cyber security meets vital marine industry requirements, safeguarding operations against digital threats and future-proofing your systems against evolving regulations
- Seamless EtherNet/IP connectivity: Native EtherNet/IP support allows for easy integration into automation systems without extra hardware, lowering costs and simplifying maintenance
- Flexible customisation: the new Logic feature in the MyDrive Insight commissioning tool enables adapting the drive to unique application requirements, reducing the need for expensive, fully custom solutions and saving engineering resources
- Global marine compliance: The addition of Class NK marine type approval extends the range of marine certifications, ensuring iC7 drives can be used in applications worldwide.
