According to Norwegian ship designer Salt Ship Design, a prominent undisclosed European shipowner has ordered two Offshore Construction Vessels (OCVs) with an option for two more from Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group in China.
The vessels are a further development of the Salt 305 design previously built by same shipyard. Salt Ship Design is to provide an extensive design package for the vessels, including detail design.
The new OCVs, designed Salt 0494, are prepared for alternative fuel, and a large battery package will be included.
