Grieg Maritime Group has signed an order for two new gantry crane vessels from New Dayang Shipbuilding in China, part of a total of six new gantry crane ships for G2 Ocean, with delivery scheduled for 2029.
The Grieg vessels will be delivered towards the end of the year. The new open hatch gantry crane vessels will have a capacity of 65,400 dwt and feature:
- Eight open hatch cargo holds with no overhangs, and a total cargo capacity of approximately 79,400 m³
- Two gantry cranes
- Tween decks in cargo holds, enabling mixed cargo intake
- Future-fuel-readiness, enabling alternative fuels such as ammonia and supporting G2 Ocean’s long-term decarbonisation goals.
