Apr 29, 2024 | Marine propulsion & machinery news

Two medium-speed dual fuel hydrogen engines from Belgian company BeHydro, a joint venture between ABC and CMB.Tech, are set to power a tugboat in Japan.

Each engine is rated 1,618 kW output at 968 rpm. The high-performance vessel is expected to cut CO2 emission by around 85%. Both engines have successfully finished the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), confirming their reliable and safe operation.

The engines are now on their way to Japan for further integration in the vessel.
