LANDMARK LNG BUNKERING IN SINGAPORE PORT

Feb 20, 2024 | Marine fuel & lubricant news

The Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) owned bunker ship ‘Brassavola’, which is chartered to Pavilion LNG Bunker, a subsidiary of Pavilion Energy, has performed its first bunkering service for an LNG-fuelled bulk carrier at the Port of Singapore.

Brassavola was constructed at Seatrium Limited (formerly Sembcorp Maritime) in Singapore and delivered in January 2024. It is Singapore’s first membrane-type LNG bunkering vessel equipped to the highest technical specifications and environmentally friendly standards. With increasing interest in using LNG as ship fuel, which can reduce CO2 by 25% to 30% compared to HFO and significantly reduce SOx and NOx, LNG bunker vessels are promoting and encouraging the spread of LNG fuel.

MOL group owns three LNG bunker vessels including Brassavola, each of which supplies LNG fuel at major bunkering ports around the world. MOL actively works on infrastructure improvement for the spread of environmentally friendly fuels, including LNG, and respond to the needs of customers and society for reducing environmental impact.
