Olympic’s latest CSOV, the ‘Olympic Notos’, has been operational for six months since her delivery from Ulstein Verft, and the customer feedback is said to be ‘outstanding’.

Olympic CTO Runar Stave said: “The vessel was delivered from Ulstein Verft in November and has been working since. She is currently operating off Brest in France, at the Parc-Éolyen-de-Saint-Nazaire, an offshore wind farm with 80 wind turbines. For all 10 of our vessels currently operating in the offshore wind market, we send out a comprehensive questionnaire to our clients, covering aspects such as facilities (accommodation, comfort), crewing, QHSE, operational characteristics (dynamic positioning), operational and technical follow-up, and more. In general, Olympic has a very good standing with clients. In 2024, we received an overall score of 96.4, with 100 being the highest possible.

Olympic Notos, delivered at the end of 2024, has now been working for six months, and feedback for this vessel recorded a perfect score of 100.

Stave concluded: “The vessel, the facilities, the operations – everything is top-notch. It touches us deeply – It is fantastic to receive such a score from our clients.”

Olympic Notos is a sister vessel to Olympic Boreas, another 2024 delivery from Ulstein Verft. The vessel was designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions, and is an SX222 design, accommodating 126 people in all daylight cabins. These are the first offshore vessels based on the Twin X-Stern principle, with main propellers fore and aft. The Ulstein Power variable speed generator (VSG) has been designed to optimise power generation by dynamically adjusting its speed to match load requirements.
