LMG Marin has announced a new basic design contract together with Tersan Shipyard for a 60-cars double-ended ferry for the Norwegian ferry operator Fjord1.
The vessel is designed by LMG Marin in close cooperation with the owner for operation on the Rysjedalsvika – Rutledal – Krakhella – Losna route for the end client Skyss.
The vessel will be equipped with a main battery package of about 6MWh which will be charged with up to 8,800kW from the shoreside grid allowing for significant reductions in GHG emissions and more sustainable operations.
This contract takes the total number of vessels designed by LMG Marin on behalf of Fjord1 since 2005 to 10.
