METHANOL FUEL SYSTEMS ORDERED FOR SIX FEEDER SHIPS

Chinese company LGM Engineering, also known as Gloryholder Liquefied Gas Machinery (DL) Company, has received an order for six methanol fuel supply systems, to be installed in newbuild feeder container vessels being built for X-Press Feeders of Singapore at the Ningbo Xinle Shipbuilding Group and New Dayang Shipping yards.

The methanol fuel supply system packages, which include methanol supply modules supplied by Alfa Laval, are for six 1,170 TEU dual fuel container vessels, Deliveries of the methanol fuel supply systems will start in June 2023. The vessels will be equipped with the latest MAN B&W LGIM two-stroke main engines, able to rin on both methanol and conventional fuels. Using green methanol as the energy source allows operation with very low carbon emissions. LGM Engineering will provide, in addition to the Alfa Laval fuel supply modules, methanol fuel bunkering stations, fuel storage tank and service tank monitoring and measurements system, ESD system, FVT, nitrogen generator and nitrogen booster as well as system commissioning, methanol fuel sea trail, and crew training.
