Fuel supplier Peninsula has begun operation of ‘Omega’, a 115m long 6,500m3 capacity estuary barge on time charter with Victrol, delivering an advanced bunkering solution in the Belgian North Sea region.
Omega is the only estuary barge of this size serving Belgian North Sea ports, providing customers with seamless fuel supply across deep-sea and inland waterways without compromising efficiency or safety.
Omega is fully equipped to transport and bunker methanol on ocean-going vessels, with the potential to operate on methanol herself in the future—reinforcing Peninsula’s commitment to sustainable solutions and the global energy transition.
The Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) hub remains one of the most strategic maritime centres, serving as a gateway for global trade and energy flows. Integrating Omega into this network is considered to strengthen Peninsula’s ability to meet customer demand where it matters most. Peninsula says it is committed to delivering innovative and sustainable bunkering solutions across key maritime hubs worldwide.
