Purus has marked another milestone with the addition of its newest construction/service operation vessel (CSOV), ‘Purus Coriolis’, to its growing fleet.
The delivery follows an earlier naming ceremony held in Vietnam, celebrating the vessel’s completion at Vard Vung Tau shipyard. The vessel’s delivery was formally recognised in Singapore, underscoring Purus’s continued commitment to advancing offshore infrastructure operations through innovative and green solutions.
The Vard 4 19 design is positioned as a ‘route to net-zero’ vessel. Short term this includes a hybrid propulsion system and operational efficiency with IMO Tier 3 compliance, leading to an immediate reduction in emissions. The electrification of key systems such as the fully electric walk-to-work gangway enables zero-emission personnel transfer in operation. The electric motion-compensated crane is more efficient and lower-emission than hydraulic alternatives. This reduces both fuel use and onboard noise pollution.
Looking ahead, the vessel is methanol-ready, with the option to increase battery capacity, and in the long-term leverages digitalisation and further electrification to optimise performance and support advanced ESG reporting.
Purus Coriolis joins sister vessel Purus Chinook and will be followed later this year by a Damen 9020 CSOV, further expanding the company’s offshore infrastructure capabilities. The growing fleet supports efficient and more sustainable operations while maintaining high performance.
Purus looks ahead to deploying Purus Coriolis in offshore operations, where it will support a range of infrastructure projects.
