The hull for Ulstein Verft’s yard number 323 has arrived at the Norwegian group’s Ulsteinvik shipyard, marking a milestone in the construction of Ulstein’s next-generation offshore wind service vessel.
The ship, the tenth Twin X-Stern CSOV since 2022, is based on Ulstein’s SX222 design platform. The Twin X-Stern solution translates to main propulsion units fore and aft, enabling the vessel to perform swift operations at manned and unmanned installations with low fuel consumption. Featuring hybrid battery propulsion and prepared for green methanol fuel, the vessel is designed to meet future environmental standards while ensuring good seakeeping and high operational efficiency.
The hull was built at Crist in Poland, and the arrival at Ulstein Verft marks the start of the outfitting and commissioning phase, where advanced systems and equipment will be installed and tested before delivery in 2026.
The ship is intended as a versatile platform for offshore wind and or offshore operations, including maintenance and construction support. With motion-compensated gangway and crane solutions, optimised logistics, and large storage capacities, the vessel is tailored for safe and efficient work in demanding offshore environments.
