Marine charging and shore power company Zinus has secured its first large commercial contract for its MCS (Megawatt-Charging System) in a collaboration with ABB Marine & Ports to cater the needs of client, Auckland Transport (AT) in New Zealand.
Zinus will deliver five complete MCS charging towers, providing a small footprint and and integrating all necessary equipment, including a cooling system for cables. With a charging current of up to 2100A, Zinus’ MCS charging towers are designed to meet evolving demand. One of the distinguishing features of Zinus’ MCS charging towers is said to be the aesthetic design.
Auckland Transport (AT) has embarked on a transformative journey towards sustainable solutions. With four new fast ferries on order, including two from EV Maritime and two from Q-West Boat Builders / Hamilton Jet, AT hopes to revolutionise its maritime operations with Zinus’ MCS charging infrastructure.
Geir Arne Bjørklund, Sales Director, Zinus said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with ABB Marine & Ports and Auckland Transport on this groundbreaking project. This contract marks a significant achievement for Zinus and also represents a large step towards sustainable transportation solutions worldwide.
